The Tusken King is a Heroic instance achieved through the pre-quests given in Aurilia. It is basically set in Mos Espa, empty but with Lvl 90'ish Tuskens so take the time to learn Mos Espa by heart
REQUIRMENTS
- Tusken Scholar Pre Quest
💡TIP ·》It is advised you make yourself familiar with the city to make sure there is no confusion once inside the instance, make yourself familiar with where the buildings are, quickest routes to them etc.
GETTING STARDED
This is one of the longest Heroic Encounters, with a 2-hour timer. You can start it by talking to Kav Goldor in Mos Espa, outside the university.
This instance can be completed with any mix of professions. Just ensure that tanks focus on warlords, AoEs handle the spawns, and the rest move around for maximum efficiency. If you die, you can re-enter the instance safely unless you fail a phase.
➡NOTE: While in the first few phases, avoid Tusken Warlords and other Gold enemies. They can be defeated by two players, but attacking them can cause nearby Tuskens to join the fight, which can make things chaotic.
💡TIP ·》 Copy these Waypoints so you don't get lost:

PHASE 1: Liberating the City
When you first enter the instance, immediately get on your speeder and head straight to the cantina located in the center of the city. Once there, the entire group should focus on clearing the cantina of all Tuskens. Be sure to wait until all group members are present before killing the last Tusken. Your journal will update, and Kav Goldor will appear inside the cantina as a gold elite. It's crucial that Kav Goldor is not killed by the Tuskens, as his death results in an instant failure.
To ensure Kav's safety, one or two players—typically a light side Jedi, Bounty Hunter, or Commando—should stay behind in the cantina to protect him. The rest of the group will move out to liberate the city.
➡NOTE: Here's the recommended order for clearing the city:
- Starport
- University
- Medical Center
- Hotel
- Cloning Center
- Combat Hall
- Watto's
💡TIP ·》As you liberate each building, use smart tactics—pull Tuskens to the group to take advantage of AOE attacks, which will speed up the process. Most buildings will have 1-2 gold elites protected by silver elites and several normal Tuskens. Continue clearing buildings until they disappear from the liberating list.
Once all buildings are cleared, your journal will update, and you'll move on to Phase 2.
PHASE 2: Re-building the city
Phase 2 of the Tusken Invasion event is the most challenging part of the instance. It requires precise coordination, knowledge of the city, and effective teamwork. Here’s a comprehensive breakdown of roles, objectives, and strategies to ensure success.
Phase Overview
Objective: Defend the city from waves of Tusken Raiders while protecting citizens and experts, who will spawn in key buildings throughout the city. Your success depends on keeping these NPCs alive and activating the city's defenses by deploying experts to specific locations.
Group Assignments
Your group will need to split into four distinct teams, each with a specific role:
- Building Guards
- Floating Team
- Tank (at Cloner)
- Sender (Expert Controller)
1. Building Guards
The most crucial task in Phase 2 is guarding the key buildings where citizens and experts spawn. If more than 10 citizens or experts die, the mission is over. Here's how to manage this:
Mansion ( Building A )
- Position: South of the city at /way -82 190, large guild hall.
- Guard Requirement: 2 players (one tank and one AoE DPS).
- Tusken Spawn Points: Behind the Mansion (towards the Cloning Center) and from the Starport side.
- Strategy: Focus on intercepting Tusken waves quickly to prevent them from attacking citizens or experts. These spawns include Warlords, so coordination is key.
Lone House ( Building B )
- Position: Center of the city at /way -2881 6 2261, citizens and experts spawn in the basement.
- Guard Requirement: 1 player.
- Tusken Spawn Points: Near the building, easy to solo.
- Strategy: Keep a close eye on spawns and quickly neutralize them. Assist other buildings if needed once your area is clear.
Slums House ( Building C )
- Position: Opposite Watto’s Shop at /way 0 197, experts spawn on the top floor.
- Guard Requirement: 1 player.
- Tusken Spawn Points: Near the building, careful positioning is required.
- Strategy: Handle the spawns quickly and assist nearby areas if possible. This position is prone to spawns very close to the door.
2. Floating Team
The Floating Team consists of 3-4 players who provide support wherever needed. Their job is to move between the buildings and protect citizens from Tusken threats.
Key Areas to Monitor:
- Hotel: Early on, clear the area in front of the hotel to protect citizens.
- Combat Hall: Important to keep this area secure as it spawns elite militia who will help defend the city.
Tusken Spawns:
- Warlords: These tough enemies will spawn periodically. If possible, ignore them unless they threaten citizens or your team directly. Try to pull them towards militia groups who can assist in taking them down.
Strategy:
- Move quickly between areas, assisting Building Guards when needed.
- Prioritize locations where citizens or experts are under attack.
- Listen carefully for alerts in group chat or Teamspeak/Vent and respond accordingly.
3. Tank (at Cloner)
The Tank’s role is straightforward but critical.
Position:
- Stay at the Cloning Facility.
Tusken Spawn Timing:
- Spawns begin 7-11 minutes into Phase 2.
Strategy:
- Initially, there won't be much action, but when the Tusken lines start forming, your job is to stop them in their tracks. Expect steady waves and be ready to hold the line.
4. Sender (Expert Controller)
The Sender is responsible for directing experts to key buildings to activate the city’s defenses.
Responsibilities:
- Radial Menu: Use the radial menu to converse with and send experts to specific buildings. Do not attack Tuskens unless absolutely necessary.
Building Assignments:
- Mansion Attack: Send experts to the Starport and University.
- Lone House Attack: Send experts to the Medical Center and Cloning Facility.
- Slums/Watto’s Attack: Send experts to the Combat Hall and Watto’s.
Expert Building Priorities:
- Combat Hall (A6): Spawns elite militia; should be your first priority.
- Medical Centre (A3): Spawns elite medics; another top priority.
- University (A2): Grants a powerful combat buff.
- Starport (A8): Spawns Y-Wing bombing runs.
- Cloning Centre (A5): Provides a buff upon incapacitation.
- Watto’s Shop (A7): Spawns non-elite droids; lowest priority.
Strategy:
- Constantly monitor the status of experts and ensure they reach their assigned buildings.
- If a Warlord or large group of Tuskens threatens an expert, consider redirecting them to delay their arrival until the area is secure.
💡TIPS ·》
- Communication: Effective communication is critical. Use group chat or voice chat to coordinate movements and alert the team of threats.
- Buff Awareness: Keep an eye on the buffs provided by the University and Cloning Facility. These can make a significant difference in the heat of battle.
- Citizens/Experts Protection: Always prioritize the protection of citizens and experts. Their survival is essential to completing the mission.
- Dealing with Warlords: Try to avoid engaging Warlords directly unless necessary. Use city militia to help take them down.
- Stay Calm and Organized: Phase 2 can get chaotic. Stay calm, stick to your roles, and adjust as needed based on the situation.
With this strategy, your team should be well-prepared to handle the Tusken onslaught and ensure the safety of the citizens and experts in Mos Espa. Good luck, and may the Force be with you!
PHASE 3: The Final Battle
This is the final phase of the instance. While it's not the most difficult, maintaining a solid defense is crucial.
Overview
Your primary objective now is to focus on the final battle that takes place in front of the Cantina, near the "Spawn Egg."
➡NOTE: Don't worry, nothing will spawn from the egg itself; it simply marks where the last stand will occur.
Step 1: Positioning and Preparation
- Forget About the Buildings: As soon as this phase begins, you no longer need to worry about guarding the three buildings. Everyone should converge in front of the Cantina, where the Spawn Egg is located.
- Get Ready: Position yourselves strategically around the egg, ensuring that the tank or a designated player with a pet is ready to pull enemies into the area where the militia has gathered.
Step 2: First Wave - Tusken Warlords
- Wave Composition: The first wave consists of five Tusken Warlords.
- Strategy:
- Tank First: Let the tank (or someone with a pet) pull aggro to avoid getting overwhelmed. It’s crucial to stack the Warlords on top of one another as much as possible to facilitate faster elimination.
- Assist the Militia: The militia in the area will automatically engage the Warlords, helping to take the heat off your group. Coordinate with them to dispatch the Warlords quickly.
Step 3: Second Wave - Tusken King and Honor Guards
- Wave Composition: This wave includes the Tusken King himself and four Honor Guards.
- Strategy:
- Reposition: The group should move well behind the militia, letting the tank or pet-user pull the Tusken King through the militia line and back toward your group.
- Militia vs. Honor Guards: The militia will engage the Honor Guards, leaving your group free to focus on the Tusken King. This minimizes the risk to Kav Galdor and the citizens.
- Focus Fire: Ignore the Honor Guards and concentrate all attacks on the Tusken King. He has 1,150,425 health and deals significant damage, so medics should be on high alert to provide consistent healing.
Step 4: Dealing with the Tusken King’s Buff
- Invulnerability Buff: When the Tusken King’s health drops to 4 HP, he may activate a buff that makes him temporarily invulnerable. Do not waste time running around the city to kill other Tuskens; this will not affect the King's invulnerability.
- Persistence: Simply continue attacking the Tusken King until the buff wears off and he is defeated.
Step 5: Final Rewards
- Bonus: Upon defeating the Tusken King, every group member will receive a bonus of +1 to Combat Defense: Critical Hit Reduction, stacking up to a maximum bonus of +10.
- Loot: You’ll also earn a Mos Espa Token of Heroism.
Step 6: Exiting the Instance
- Eject: Once the Tusken King is defeated and the instance is complete, use the /eject command to exit. If you cannot break aggro, you won’t be able to eject and will need to walk outside the city to do so—an inconvenient task, so it’s best to manage aggro carefully.
This guide should provide a clear path to successfully completing the final phase of the Tusken Heroic Instance. Good luck, and may your efforts bring victory to Mos Espa!
