The Bounty Hunter Guild on Nexus—operating under the ancient traditions of the Imperial Peace-Keeping Certificate (IPKC), also known simply as a bounty hunter’s license—offers anyone the opportunity to become a licensed hunter. Licensed hunters track criminals, complete dangerous contracts, and eventually hunt player targets across the galaxy.
Unlike traditional Star Wars Galaxies servers, Bounty Hunting on Nexus is not tied to a dedicated profession. There is no Bounty Hunter profession on Nexus. Instead, any player may pursue the path of bounty hunting by acquiring a Bounty Hunter License (IPKC) through the Guild.
When a crime is committed, an originator—whether the Empire, a local government, a corporation, or a private individual—issues a bounty notification because local law-enforcement is unable or unwilling to act. That notification becomes a contract, and the criminal becomes the acquisition. As a licensed hunter, you choose contracts from Guild terminals, track your target across the galaxy using your own skills and determination, and claim the bounty. Fail, and another hunter will take your place. That is the way of the Guild.
The system is designed around:
- Progressive licensing
- Structured target difficulty
- PvP bounty progression
- Competitive hunter rankings
- Long-term character identity
Joining the Bounty Hunter Guild
To become a licensed hunter, players must first travel to the Bounty Hunter Guild Hall in Mos Espa and complete the Guild initiation process.
Requirements
- Recommended Level 30+
- Entry fee required
- Completion of an introductory Guild quest
Once completed, players receive their first official Guild License and gain access to Bounty Hunter terminals.
NOTE: Players cannot use Bounty Hunter terminals without a valid license.
Bounty Hunter Licenses
The Guild License—formally the Imperial Peace-Keeping Certificate (IPKC)—represents a hunter’s permanent career progression within the Bounty Hunter Guild.
Players earn:
- Bounty Hunter XP
- Guild reputation
- Access to advanced contracts
- New tracking tools and mechanics
Progression is permanent:
- No BH XP loss
- No license rank decay
- PvE and PvP both contribute toward progression
License Ranks
The Guild uses a numbered ranking system (Rank 0–V) with the following titles and benefits. Skill modifiers, commands, and abilities are granted at each rank and are permanent.
| Rank | Title | Description / Unlocks | Skill Mods / Commands and Abilities |
| I | Guild Prospect | Starting rank for newly licensed hunters | Basic NPC bounty contracts, Introductory Guild assignments |
| II | Contract Initiate | Hunters begin taking on more dangerous assignments and gain access to improved tracking support | Droid Precision +70, Droid Speed +10 |
| III | Licensed Tracker | First major milestone. Hunters begin participating in true player bounty hunting | Droid Precision +50, Droid Speed +40, Bounty Mission Difficulty +1, Access to Low-Value Player Contracts |
| IV | Pursuit Specialist | Experienced hunters trusted with more advanced investigations and criminal tracking | Droid Tracking Speed +40, Tracking Droid Effectiveness +50, Tracking Droids +4, Droid Speed +30, Bounty Check command |
| V | Guild Operative | Elite Guild members trusted with dangerous and politically sensitive assignments | Droid Tracking Speed +30, Tracking Droid Effectiveness +40, Tracking Droids +4, Bounty Mission Difficulty +1, Access to High-Value Player Bounties |
| VI | Master Bounty Hunter | The highest Guild License attainable. These hunters represent the best of the Guild | Tracking Droid Effectiveness +40, Droid Precision +10, Droid Speed +10, Droid Tracking Speed +10, Bounty Mission Difficulty +1, Jedi Contracts Unlocked |
Note: Guild Prospect is the first official licensed rank granted upon completing initiation. All higher ranks build directly on the previous ones.
Bounty Hunter PvP Tier System
Separate from Guild Licenses is the competitive PvP Tier System.
While Licenses represent permanent career progression, PvP Tiers represent a hunter’s active performance and reputation against player targets.
Unlike License progression:
- PvP rank can increase or decrease
- Inactivity may cause rank decay
- Failed contracts carry penalties
This system creates a competitive ladder for dedicated bounty hunters.
How PvP Ranking Works
Players gain Tier progress by:
- Successfully completing PvP bounties
- Eliminating player targets
- Completing difficult contracts
Players lose progress by:
- Failing contracts
- Abandoning hunts
- Losing bounty engagements (you only lose points if you die while you have an active contract)
Higher tiers require significantly more progress, become increasingly competitive, and may decay over time if the hunter becomes inactive.
PvP Tier Progression
There are 10 PvP Bounty Hunter tiers. Early tiers are relatively easy to climb, while higher tiers become increasingly difficult to maintain.
Tier I — Field Initiate
Tier II — Contract Seeker
Tier III — Sector Tracker
Tier IV — System Hunter
Tier V — Professional Operative
Tier VI — Bounty Specialist
Tier VII — Veteran Contractor
Tier VIII — Master Hitman
Tier IX — Apex Predator
Tier X — Guild Legend
Bounty Hunter Terminals
Bounty Hunter terminals dynamically generate contracts based on several factors:
- Your current PvP Tier
- The difficulty of the target
- Available contracts within the galaxy
- Relative location
- Relative Combat Level (CL)
- Faction alignment
Target Difficulty is determined by how long and how often the target has survived previous bounty hunter attempts, the rank of the hunters who have tried to claim them, and the contract payout amount. Higher difficulty targets are worth more and are reserved for higher-tier hunters.
A Guild contractor uploads each contract to the terminals after the originator issues the notification. As a licensed hunter, you may accept any contract available to your rank. You will travel the galaxy, following leads with your skills, contacts, and determination to track down the acquisition and complete the assignment. Success brings the bounty. Failure means another hunter will take your place.
This system helps ensure balanced matchmaking, appropriate target difficulty, better progression pacing, and less randomness in contract availability.
As hunters rise through the ranks, they gain access to increasingly dangerous and rewarding targets.
Tracking & Hunting
As players progress through the Guild, they gain access to advanced tracking systems and tools such as:
- Seeker Droids
- Probe Droids
- Expanded target intelligence
- Improved tracking capabilities
Higher-level hunters become significantly more efficient at locating and pursuing dangerous targets.
Progression
The Bounty Hunter system creates a long-term GAMEPLAY loop built around career advancement, PvP competition, reputation, and galactic notoriety.
Players progress through:
1. Guild initiation
2. NPC bounty contracts
3. Tracking tool unlocks
4. Player bounty hunting
5. PvP tier advancement
6. Elite contracts
7. Legendary hunter status
Design Goals
The Nexus Bounty Hunter system was designed to:
- Allow any profession to become a hunter
- Create meaningful long-term progression
- Separate permanent progression from competitive ranking
- Provide structured PvP advancement
- Encourage active participation
- Preserve the fantasy of becoming a legendary galactic hunter
Whether you are a Commando, Enforcer, Smuggler, or Entertainer, the Guild offers a path toward becoming one of the galaxy’s most feared hunters.
