Socket Enhancement Attachments (SEAs)

Socket Enhancement Attachments (SEAs) are a cornerstone of equipment customization, allowing folks to permanently enhance their gear with stat or skill modifiers. Each piece of equipment—whether a blaster, a suit of armor, or a stylish shirt—has up to four sockets, each capable of holding one SEA that boosts a specific attribute, such as Luck, Accuracy, or Dodge Chance. SEAs are created through a  process involving experience points (XP), modifier bits, and an Enhancement Synthesizers, offering everyone a way to tailor their equipment to their preferred playstyle, from combat prowess to crafting efficiency.
 

Obtaining SEAs

To obtain an SEA, follow these steps:

  1. Visit a Skill Trainer:
    • Seek out one of the many skill trainers across the galaxy, such as a Marksman trainer, found in cities or outposts.
    • Access the trainer’s dialogue and select the option to purchase modifier bits using your experience points (XP). The cost varies based on the modifier’s type and power level:
      • Less powerful modifiers can provide boosts up to +36.
      • More powerful modifiers have a lower cap, such as +6, reflecting their potency.
  2. Purchase Modifier Bits:
    • Spend XP to acquire a Modifier Bit. These bits determine the specific stat or skill boost the SEA will provide, such as increased Health or Crit Chance.
  3. Acquire an Enhancement Synthesizer:
    • Obtain an Enhancement Synthesizer tailored to the equipment type you wish to enhance:
      • Weapon Enhancement Synthesizer: Crafted by Weaponsmiths, designed for blasters, vibroblades, and other weapons.
      • Armor Enhancement Synthesizer: Crafted by Armorsmiths, suited for protective gear like composite armor.
      • Clothing Enhancement Synthesizer: Crafted by Tailors, ideal for shirts, jackets, and other attire.
    • These synthesizers are crafted using astroid resources.
  4. Convert Modifier Bits to SEAs:
    • Use the appropriate Enhancement Synthesizer to convert your modifier bit into a single SEA. The synthesizer processes the bits, creating an SEA ready for application to your equipment.
  5. Apply SEAs to Equipment:
    • Apply SEAs to your equipment’s sockets via a drag-and-drop interface or radial menu. Each of the many equipment pieces has up to four sockets, allowing up to four SEAs per item.
