Factory Terminal
The Factory Terminal is a custom feature on the SWG Nexus server that allows players to manufacture items from within their homes. It functions similarly to traditional SWG factories but is integrated into player housing, drawing maintenance costs from the structure it is placed in.
Types of Factory Terminals
There are four types of Factory Terminals, each corresponding to specific crafting categories. The type of terminal is determined by the factory deed used in the conversion process:
- Food Factory Terminal: Used for manufacturing food and chemical items.
- Clothing Factory Terminal: Used for manufacturing clothing and armor.
- Structure Factory Terminal: Used for manufacturing structures and furniture.
- Weapon Factory Terminal: Used for manufacturing weapons, droids, and general items.
Obtaining Factory Terminals
Factory Terminals are created using Factory Deed Conversion Kits, which can be purchased from the black market. These kits are illegal items smuggled by the Cartel.
Installation Process
To install a Factory Terminal:
1. Place a factory deed corresponding to the desired terminal type in a house you own.
2. Open your inventory and select the Factory Deed Conversion Kit.
3. Choose "Option 1: Convert factory deed."
4. A new Factory Terminal will be spawned in your inventory.
5. Place the terminal in the desired location within the house.
6. Activate the terminal.
Note: The number of Factory Terminals you can place in a structure is equal to the number of lots the structure uses. For example, a 3-lot house can have up to 3 Factory Terminals. Terminals do not consume additional lots.
Usage
Once installed, the Factory Terminal can be used to manufacture items:
1. Create a manufacturing schematic using the appropriate crafting tool and station.
2. Load the schematic and required resources into the terminal's input hopper.
3. The terminal will produce the items in factory crates, which can be collected from the output hopper.
Maintenance and Costs
Each Factory Terminal placed in a structure will increase the structure's maintenance cost. When the terminal is active (manufacturing items), it will draw additional maintenance equal to half of its idle maintenance cost from the structure's maintenance pool.
Limitations and Restrictions
- Factory Terminals cannot be picked up or removed from the structure without uninstalling them first.
- They can be moved within the same room but cannot be transferred to another structure.
- The number of terminals that can be placed is limited by the structure's lot size.
Comparison with Standard SWG Factories
In standard SWG, factories are separate structures that consume lots and have their own maintenance costs. On the SWG Nexus server, Factory Terminals are integrated into player housing, do not consume additional lots, and draw maintenance from the structure they are placed in. This allows for more convenient manufacturing without the need for separate factory buildings.
